This course outlines some recent research on the developing brain and the impact of the use technology (tablet devices) to teach language to infants. It outlines the potential implications on school and educational communities as well as a variety of other settings and highlights the need to use technology wisely and in moderation, balanced with real human relationships, touch, eye-contact and voice. Teachers will be presented with current research into the positive and negative impacts of technology use on the brain and relationship development for the 0-3 age range.
